The location where Willis Carrier invented the first modern air conditioner in 1902 at the Sackett & Wilhelms Lithography and Printing Company in Brooklyn. Carrier developed his invention to solve the printing plant's humidity problem. Carrier's company later became the Carrier Corporation.
